Leader: In the Name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
All: Amen.
Leader: Let us
first listen to these words from the Bible:
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace
with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have gained access [by faith] to this grace in
which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.
Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that
affliction produces endurance,
and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, and
hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out into our
hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us. (Romans 5:1-5)
Leader: Let us
pray:
All. Amen.
The Leader then sprinkles the sick person and
those present with Holy Water and says:
Let this water
call to mind our BAPTISM into Christ, who, by his death and resurrection, has
redeemed us.
Leader: Let us pray
the Lord’s Prayer:
All: Our Father, who art
in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread;
and forgive us our
trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Leader: Let us also ask
the Blessed Mother to protect our sick from all harm and dangers:
All: Hail, Mary! Full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou
among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother
of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Leader: May the Sacred
Heart of Jesus live in our hearts.
All. Amen.
Leader: In the Name of
the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
All: Amen.
